:D

i think week's practices was focused on midautumn songs? on tuesday did some month of maying and idk why we alto1 keep on going out of pitch during sectionals ): but it think the time that ms yin deal with us was great, cause i realised how much we really need to lift to produce the sound she wanted. and also about how we can seem like lifting on the outside but not lifting inside and it'll be useless (or is this thursday's work?) :O i think what ms yin said was really true, about how fast we can change if we are really determined to do so, and we should be confident of ourself. ms yin was also talking about letting our personalities show too, and i've decided to look more 爽 during the one month later practice muahaha ~~
after this week, i realised that we shouldn't look down on small performances like the school events, cause it is then that we prove ourselves to the school. though mid autumn performance was quite screwed cause there was lots of unexpected stuffs like no music and idk why the 南华欢迎你 started so behind etc plus it was quite different from the rehearsals, but i think it was great that we didn't just stone and do nothing about it, but continue to sing on :) oh well, at least it was a great learning experience for us!

oh and ALTOS1 FTW yay xD

Reflection

For the past 2 practices, we spent most of the time preparing the mid-autumn celebration. But still I learn something and something to reflect on.

Firstly was what Ms.Yin told us, that the mindset is important. I mean, it is worth a try to say three things to ourselves in the morning. If it really works, perhaps we could produce better sound and Ms.Yin would have more things to work with us. If it didn't, there is nothing to lose.

Secondly, I think we should always be thankful toward Ms.Yin. She spent the whole of last practice we had to help us to prepare for the mid-autumn, help us to think of different parts of 城里的月光. Sometimes, she would scold us and gets really pissed off , but she still comes back to teach us and tries different ways to tell us how to get the sound she wanted. And remember to smile when we sings because when Ms.Yin conducts she is always smiling to us!

Yesterday's performance wasn't that good, but at least we had fun preparing and we did what we could.

Jiayous to show our identities to Ms.Yin, so she will remember each and everyone. And jiayou for EOY and try to remember all the things we've learnt in choir!

Yike's reflection

I think this week's choir practices were quite different. After Ms.Yin talked to us about having a winner attitude on Tuesday, I felt that everyone was cheered up and on that day, the whole choir were producing a bright, forward and rounded sound. Ms.Yin was also very satisfied with us, bravo! :) I felt proud that Sop 2 improved a lot, we had more people singing out loud and in tune.

As for the Mid-Autumn performance, quite pity. Yet it was not our fault, nor the infocom's. So just ignore this unhappy thing and enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival with your family.

Btw, remember the three things Ms.Yin asked us to say to ourselves in front of a mirror, "I can sing better, I can study better and I will never have pimples" :)

Don't stop believing, Nan Hua Choir, keep up the good work and we CAN do it !

Reflection :D

I was late on thursday cause of oral so i don't really know what happen earlier. When i came in, Choir was sing Ocharaka. Jap songs seems easy to sing and sounds nice but it's really easy to make mistakes. So i guess that was why Ms Yin said we kept going sharp. Ghost
I sang for a while but later went to sit behind cause i kept on coughing. Later, Choir sang month of maying. That song was fun to sing cause it kept on repeating. For me, i feel that knowing what falalaing means didn't affect how many sing it cause Ms Yin told us the meaning after learning the song. But i doubt in the future if we're going to learn a song with falala we can sing it without laughing. Vampire bat
And yeah lets not forget to give a round of applause to ourself for the attendance!! *ClapClapClap*
LOL hopefully can get 100% in the future :D
Go Choir!

2nd sep reflections, qiaoyuan

choir was great yesterday. there is only one day of practice cos tuesday was a celebration for teachers day. the attendance was quite okay. at least sick/sore throat/cannot sing people bothered to come and sit at the back. there are more people than usual who sat at the back. i was one of them. my throat was just irritating me whenever i sing... :(!!!!

PS: while seating at the back, i cant really see what is the person(c0nductor) in front doing, i mean, i was listening, but sometimes when miss yin explains some things, i din catch it, although i stood up a while, i was too short!! =( so lesson learnt, find a perfect spot next time. (that perfect spot will only be at the first row, beside jieling).

i arrived before 245 i think. charmaine gave us some mint sweets for sore throat and sick people, thanks! then choir started with warmups. mun yee took the warm ups. she kept emphasizing on support. i felt that choir was a bit soft during the warmups. after some time, we did star jumps and started singing a song. if im not wrong, it was ocharaka? after a while, miss yin came. she seemed okay, then she commented something like, "choir sing until like that still wanna continue ar?" after that she continued us with some other warm ups, until we were warmed up.

we concentrated hard on ocharaka song, practicing it for almost the whole lesson, leaving i think the last half an hour-45mins for month of maying. for the ocharaka song, miss yin asked sop 1s to sing softer, and A1s to sing louder, cos apparently they had to live without qiaole. for sop 2 and sop 1, (for the conbined 1st part) miss yin wanted us to sing the notes correctly, especially the "ta ra" part with i think a A (or C) note cos that was mainly the part that we went too high, and she wanted us to erm, sort of land on the note properly and not poking the note as we reaches it.

after that miss yin was quite irritated by us, cos we cant sing those notes correctly, and she asked lim hui to take over sectionals for S1 and 2. i went over to sing, cos i probably found out that my voice was better, but unfortunately it wasnt. but i continued to sing anyways, sing real soft, and sometimes no sound comes out, blame it on my voice! during sectionals miss yin taught us a little bit on how to reach the note, and we improved! yay!

then i went back to sit down it was combined sections and everyone sang it quite perfectly i guess. then it was somehow a 5 mins break. during the break, they gave out consent forms to be handed in today, about the next week's workshop. everyone must come!!!!!

after the break, i went back to sing, in the first row, like finally. din care if my voice was working or not, just wanna concentrate. and i could somehow sing the month of maying better then ocharaka. is it cos of the vowels? i dunno. anyway, miss yin said our english pronunciation sounded more like chinese kind. hmmm...

after choir some anouncement were like, next year's syf place isnt confirmed yet, so we have to at least getour voices prepared, cos it would be somekinda not very sound contained environmnet, like our school hall, like somehow the sound just... escaped? like if ther are  carpets and everyhing, they will absorb the sound. charmaine said that they'll sort out the attendance and late coming another day. and some seniors came back to visit, including jinyee and some other graduated seniors. charmaine asked them what will the teacher taking over the workshop be like. they said, BRING YOUR BRAINS. SO YEAH, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT...

so i guess that's about all. i a bit luo suo, so sorry XD
